MY NEW BOOK βLIGHTNING: ELECTRIC EPHEMERAL ENERGYβ IS AVAILABLE NOW!M
The Ultimate Price of Power: Resilience Forged in Fire
This is not a book about summer storms; it is a profound visual testament to the risk required to capture them. Lightning: Electric Ephemeral Energy is a stunning collection of high-speed images frozen in time that are born from years of chasing, passion, and persistenceβfrom reading weather radars to driving hundreds of miles over hours of time, trying to capture the perfect lightning bolt. Photographer Jeremy Janus began his storm-chasing journey after an awakening moment capturing his first mesmerizing lightning bolt in 2019.
This book translates the adrenaline, focus, and precision of that pursuit into a breathtaking meditation on the sheer power, speed, and ephemeral nature of the storm world. Inside this book, the power is unclouded by words, allowing you to experience the world through the photographer's singular focusβthe "zone" where the frantic pursuit leads to a moment of perfect clarity, as demonstrated by:
- Ephemeral Illumination: Up-close views of lightning bolts and storm structure, revealing the explosive, intricate discharges that exist only for a moment.
- Raw Resilience: Landscapes that bear the stark beauty of power and action, reflecting the mental and physical grit required to chase them.
The Fire and Ice Duality: This volume serves as the "Fire" element in a powerful, simultaneous dual-release marking the photographer's 40th birthday. The book's companion, Frozen Crystals: The Transient Nature of Winter, captures the opposing force of iceβthe still, resolute moments of winter energy. Lightning is the ultimate expression of the summer passion that taught the artist how to capture light in the darkness, celebrating a decade spent translating struggle into transient beauty. This is the definitive volume for collectors who understand that the most beautiful moments in nature are always earned.
MY NEW BOOK βFROZEN CRYSTALS: THE TRANSIENT NATURE OF WINTERβ IS NOW AVAILABLE!
The Ultimate Price of Beauty: Resilience Forged in Ice
This is not a book about winter landscapes; it is a profound visual testament to the struggle required to capture them. Frozen Crystals is a stunning collection of images born from years of pushing limitsβfrom hiking through 70-mile-per-hour snowstorms to fighting off frostbite to capture a single, perfect frame.
Photographer Jeremy Janus began his journey into the deep winter after an awakening moment on a frozen lake in 2019. This book translates the blood, sweat, and tears of that pursuit into a breathtaking meditation on the stillness, structure, and transient nature of the cold world.
Inside this book, the beauty is unclouded by words, allowing you to experience the world through the photographer's singular focusβthe "zone" where the frantic world slows down, revealing: - Fractal Perfection: Up-close views of snow and ice, revealing the mesmerizing, intricate geometries that exist only for a moment. - Raw Resilience: Landscapes that bear the stark beauty of survival and isolation, reflecting the mental and physical grind required to capture them.
The Fire and Ice Duality: This volume serves as the "Ice" element in a powerful, simultaneous dual-release marking the photographer's 40th birthday. The book's companion, Lightning: Electric Ephemeral Energy, captures the opposing force of Fireβthe chaotic, singular moments of storm's energy. Frozen Crystals is the ultimate expression of the winter passion that taught the artist resilience, celebrating a decade spent translating struggle into transient beauty.
This is the definitive volume for collectors who understand that the most beautiful moments in nature are always earned.

This book moves beyond simple documentation, featuring breathtaking shots of dramatic cloud formations, rainbows, luminous storm sunsets, and the fleeting beauty of lightning. While most hail from Jeremy's home state of Colorado, every image speaks to the underlying theme: finding hope in intensity. After spending years mastering the technical challenges of forecasting and capturing dynamic weatherβa skill set forged over a difficult period in his lifeβJeremy now shares a perspective defined by his own battle with depression, anxiety, and suicide contemplation.
This book is more than a portfolio; it is a testament to resilience. Through his nature photography, Jeremy steps out of the darkness and becomes a light for others to follow, making this collection a deeply meaningful journey brought to life.
