In the summer of 2023 we had a very strange pattern of storms that were rolling through. We had a couple weeks straight of rain every single day and even though some of the storms were producing lightning, they had so much moisture in them it made them impossible to capture anything. Shooting in the rain is miserable, but there was so much downpour you couldn’t even see the lightning through the dense rainfall. I went over to the park to watch for lightning when this storm got super active. I only had about 5 minutes before there was so much rain I couldn’t see anymore but I took this shot that looked like someone dancing in the rain and it quickly became one of my favorite lightning formations I have ever captured.
