Snow Flow

from $75.00

I went out in a pretty big storm that I knew was rolling in. There were high wind warnings for hurricane level gusts which were in the 70-80 mile per hour range that day. It was freezing cold, windy as hell, and there wasn’t another soul on the lake with me. I walked around and laid on the ice for a while, shooting and studying the snow patterns in the wind. I came over to this area of the lake where the ice was still transparent and you could see down to the rocks below. The wind was howling right here coming off the huge rock next to me and threw snow in every direction around me. This is where I typically hit flow state after forcing myself to stand in the middle of the storm for a while, understanding what I want to shoot and how I want to shoot it, after I am able to calm my mind, body, and soul and completely lose myself in the moment of shooting. This is one of my favorite winter storm photos I have ever shot.
