On the way back from South Dakota we saw a massive storm cell developing right in front of us. There were beautiful mammatus clouds that were blanketing the edges of the cell as we drove in. Mammatus clouds look like soft cups, and they are mesmerizing as they descend down from the sky. They are also typically indicative of a severe thunderstorm, so I knew we were driving into the eye of the storm with the way our skies were developing.
