When I was chasing ice and snow in Michigan in February of 2026, one of the things that I loved to shoot was the frozen lighthouses. They have so many unique ice formations and you can get lost for hours shooting them. I was shooting a lighthouse when I decided to go around to the backside of it to see what the ice looked like on that side of it. I came around to see this view and my jaw dropped. The intricate structures and formations of ice on this 35 foot lighthouse were enamoring. This lighthouse looked like an octopus made of ice wrapped itself around the entire structure.
