In February of 2026 I went on a tour around Michigan in search of ice and snow. One of the things I wanted to shoot was an ice cave. I was lucky enough to find some in the Upper Peninsula when I skirted around an island on an ice shelf that was stable enough to walk on. The second I came into this cave I could not get over how many icicles were hanging from the rock above. It was one of the most mesmerizing things I have ever seen in the winter. I loved seeing the contrast of the hundred of icicles hanging above me, the ice shelf below my feet, and the vast landscape of nothingness out in the distance on the great Lake Superior.
