When we got down to the southern island of New Zealand, it was pouring like crazy and we decided to hit a waterfall on the way to the southernmost point. It was amazing how much water was coming down so quick which ironically would turn into a state of emergency the following day that derailed some of our plans, but I digress. Purakaunui Falls was surrounded by a lush forest and cut through it beautifully. The waterfall carried a ton of dirt and debris from the storm rolling in but it lent well to the beautiful gloomy scene.
